Sanne Luna Scheepmaker(she/her · they/them) is a Dutch artist working across sculptural installation, interactive systems, and speculative design. Currently based in Vienna.
Their practice explores how humans and technologies are deeply entangled — and how systems we create evolve into opaque structures that shape perception and behaviour. Approaching technology as a "black box," their work investigates how agency can be reclaimed through interaction, embodiment, and play.
Care functions both as a theme and methodology, guiding the development of soft, non-coercive interfaces and environments. Their practice is inherently interdisciplinary, informed by a background in pharmacy and a continued engagement with scientific thinking.
Through collaborations with designers, programmers, and researchers, they develop immersive installations that make contemporary systems tangible and experiential.
Shortlisted for the iF Design Student Award 2026 (top selection from ~7000 entries). Continuing into the Diploma Programme at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien.
