Fourth Chair
The unfolded surface of a chair as a transparent textile drawing. Derived from a 3D model, the object's digital skin is flattened into a UV map and translated into stitched outlines on mesh. Removed from its function and volume, the chair appears as a diagram, a residue, or a ghost of itself.

Synthrophy
An immersive installation reimagining the interior of a yeast cell as an inhabitable, sensory environment. Visitors enter a soft, alien landscape of light, sound, colour, and texture where microscopic biochemical processes unfold as shifting atmospheres. Developed within Art Meets Science: Circular Bioengineering and Sustainability in Dialogue (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna × BOKU University).
2026 · Waste is a Myth, BOKU Future Conference, Vienna · 20–31 May

preconditions (In Medio)
A black box that rewrites your messages before they arrive. Two participants face separate walls; the system actively alters messages between them, amplifying misunderstandings, projections, and emotional misreadings. Communication as structural misalignment — no privileged viewpoint, no correction.
2026 · Rundgang, Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien

Maintenance List
A self-published zine on invisible, feminized labour — administrative coordination, emotional regulation, logistical upkeep. Lists that accumulate until they glitch, creating space for shared presence. Drawing on feminist theories of social reproduction.

Sanne Luna Scheepmaker(she/her · they/them) is a Dutch artist working across sculptural installation, interactive systems, and speculative design. Currently based in Vienna.

Their practice explores how humans and technologies are deeply entangled — and how systems we create evolve into opaque structures that shape perception and behaviour. Approaching technology as a "black box," their work investigates how agency can be reclaimed through interaction, embodiment, and play.

Care functions both as a theme and methodology, guiding the development of soft, non-coercive interfaces and environments. Their practice is inherently interdisciplinary, informed by a background in pharmacy and a continued engagement with scientific thinking.

Through collaborations with designers, programmers, and researchers, they develop immersive installations that make contemporary systems tangible and experiential.

Shortlisted for the iF Design Student Award 2026 (top selection from ~7000 entries). Continuing into the Diploma Programme at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien.
